Alongside the clay and rock
of a red road pox marked
with potholes shaped like
treachery and infested with
traffic that drives at the speed
of tepid raindrops stumbling
onto the cityscape like clumsy
seasonings, is a building stuck
in limbo between construction
and deconstruction, and crawling
with sprawling black, spray-painted
words that read:
JUDAS WAS ALSO A DISCIPLE.
And weather weary eyes, blinking
in search of context, wonder:
fact or warning?
